Favorite Recipes

Since I have quit doing hair and started being a full time mom, I have set a goal to be a great homemaker. It is definetly in the making. Part of the goal is to have the laundry washed and folded, have a menu put together, keep the house clean, and the dishes done (I am not allowed to vaccum, that is among Blake's favorite things to do). So I am asking for help. I am in need of dinner ideas, or just fun things to make. So if you have any favorites post them on the comment board. Recipes that you can remember off of the top of your head is the best. Thanks!

This is actually the recipe I'm making tonight for dinner. I've never made it before, but I got it from a friend.

Italian Focaccia Sandwich

2 cups shredded cooked chicken
1/2 cup Hidden Valley Ranch dressing
1/4 cup finely sliced green onions
1 piece focaccia bread (3/4 inch thick 10x7 in)
2 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced
4 cheese slices, such as provolone, cheddar or Swiss
2 Tbl grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Stir together chicken, dressing, and onions in small mixing bowl.
Arrange chicken mixture evenly on top of focaccia.
Top with layer of tomatoes and cheese slices.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired.
Broil 2 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Rhonda,
I promise you I will get you some recipes if you promise me to swap me a couple! :) I just haven't thought about bringing my recipes up here yet. And I don't have any of them memorized...I am lame. Anyways, I like this idea and I will be copying everyone's comments! Hopefully I will get mine up here soon!

Awesome soup

One roasted chicken (the kind they sell at the grocery store)
2 cans of cantenneli beans (sp) they are a white bean.
1 large can or the box of chicken broth
1 jar of salsa verde I use la victoria.
tear up the chicken and drain beans put it all together and cook until beans are soft about 5-8 min

Top with tortilla chips
sliced avacados (I know sounds weird but so yummy!)
cheese and sour cream
this is such a hit with everybody!!!!

Okay, so I'm a slacker on leaving this comment but I made this the other night and thought it would be a good one for you...it is SO EASY!

Spaghetti Sauce

1 lb. hamburger - brown with italian seasoning, dried onion, and garlic salt (to taste)

1 can stewed tomatoes
3 cans tomato paste with equal amounts of water
1/4 C. sugar

Bring stewed tomatoes to a boil and simmer for a minute. Add tomato paste, water, sugar and hamburger.

I like to use whole wheat spaghetti.

This makes more then two people can eat, so I freeze it in baggies with enough for the two of us. So when there is a night I don't feel like cooking, i just pull one of the bags out, cook some noodles and vegetables and I'm done!

If you don't want the hamburger in it, then just season with the same seasonings in the sauce to taste.
