SUPERMAN To the Rescue!

This year for Halloween we went to Oregon. It was so much fun to be able to spend time with my family and see some friends. I looked forward to going to my home ward, and seeing the ward members. While we were at my parents we were able to celebrate my dad's birthday and Blake and Preston spent some time on the combine. Preston even fell asleep on the combine.

You've got to love the bruise on Preston's forehead... a true superhero.

Raegan's Room

Yes... I have been busy. Driving Blake insane to be truthful :).

Thanks Rochelle for helping me with the bedding.

What can I say, I love pictures!

Preston's Room

Nesting started early for me :) I was very motivated to get things done around the house before this baby got here! I was at a loss of what I wanted to do for Preston's room. I finally got inspired by some fabric and ran with it. I obviously need to fill the frames with pictures, but you get the idea.

I love the BRIGHT colored furniture. The headboard and foot board came from DI for $5!!! I was so excited when I found it! The other furniture came from craigs list, for lets just say cheap!

I love the rain gutter book shelves. Preston can reach the books himself, and best of all he puts them away too!

Master Bedroom

It all started a year ago...

When we first moved into our apartment we didn't have a dresser. Our clothes were nicely folded on the floor. I came home from a trip to Salt Lake and Blake had bought this dresser from the Sugar City Hardware store. It was so thoughtful of him because he knew how frustrated I was with having piles of clothes on the floor.

The end tables came from DI for $15 for both of them, they have been painted a few times and Blake put taller legs on them. And the lamps came from my Grandma Johnston. They were an ugly sea foam green with this wonderful lamp shade, green and mauve floral, you can imagine.

The new dresser came from craigs list (I LOVE) for $25! It was not so cute, but paint does amazing things! The mirrors came from garage sales and Blake did a wonderful job hanging the TV. Thanks babe! And in the hurricane jars are petals from roses that Blake has given me.

As you can see, the end tables are now brown. The headboard came from DI, and I made the bench out of a shutter, and yes I made it... all by myself! I love the pictures of Blake and I above the bed! Thanks Karen!

And the curtains... I love the picture of the temple. My friend Nettie made that for me. She is so talented!

You can't really tell in this picture, but the bottom frame has our marriage certificate in it. I saw this idea in Ashley's house, and had to steal her idea. It has only taken a year and a half to finally get everything collected and put together, but I love the outcome!

Curtains, Curtains, and more Curtains

It all started in the kitchen, I was on the search for the perfect red curtains, but came across curtains for the bedroom. Once they were hung I felt like the rest of the windows in my house were naked. I have never been a fan of curtains, but having mine hung... I am in love with how it warms the room and makes it feel so much cozier.

I got a little creative with these ones above my kitchen sink... bamboo place mats stapled to a strip of wood (thanks Bryan for cutting it).

After hanging these ones in the living room we had someone ask if we had gotten new couches. I just love how it transformed the room, and pulled everything together!

These ones are in Raegan's room. Thanks to Rochelle for helping me make them :)

After the mentoring, I was able to make these solo. And thanks again to Bryan for cutting my curtain rod.

Where it all began :) I love the tassels!

I LOVE PICTURES!!!

Props to Lisa for letting me steal her fabulous idea :) I love pictures, and what a great way to display them. This wall is in my kitchen, and I considered putting a china hutch, but love this because it doesn't take up any walking space.

Fireplace Makeover

This fireplace has been such an eye sore... I finally got the courage to get it done. I am so happy with the way that it turned out! You can also see that I did a faux finish on the walls, and we moved our desk into the kitchen as well. I love having the bulky desk gone and having the computer out in the open. Blake did such a great job at building the built in.
