Growing up my dad would always take us on these CRAZY outings to Succor Creek that lasted ALL day and always had the same result... driving in the middle of NO WHERE just to come home and milk cows and change the water. Now that I am a little older I have come to appreciate those crazy trips and I asked my dad if we could do that while we were visiting this past weekend. The plan was to try and find this old horse trap, but we were unsuccessful and settled for hiking this rock called 'three fingers'. From our house it looks like a top hat, because you can only see the side of it, but this is the real view and how it gets it's name. Grandma and Grandpa kept the two babes, Preston and Keegan. The rest of us hiked to the top. About half way to three fingers we saw a huge mountain sheep.
This is what three fingers looks like from our house. Quite deceiving.
This is the view from the top of three fingers. You can see that we are literally in the middle of no where.
It is amazing how beautiful dirt, rocks, and cheat grass can be.
Here is an example of the hike up the first finger. Lots of rocks, and yes we are crazy, and we took a 3 and 4 year old up with us, but they had a great time.
Here is Sterling, my brother, his wife and kids, Lisa, Trey, and Chase at the top with Owen, my brother, and his wife Emily. You can see that Trey is holding a can, it is filled with notepads to sign your name.
We tried to find our names in it from our last trip up there, but couldn't find it.
Blake and I at the top.
Blake told me that I shouldn't go, I was thought it was because he didn't want me to go 'rock climbing', but come to find out it was because he didn't want to go and have me saying that I did it and he didn't.
Here is a fun rock that looks like a tea pot.
I think that Preston had a great time, sleeping through the whole adventure. Thanks Mom and Dad for the trip, we had a great time!
